hi I posted on here once but don't know if it worked so here it goes again my well is a 5in.with submersable pump it's about 13 yrs old.for about the last year or so we have been losing water pressure when you turn on a shower or the outside hose we have great water pressure for about 2 or 3 min. then it loses pressure.I have checked the switch and the bladder tank they are working right,all the plumbing was replaced with copper during a remod about the same time as the well and we have never had a problem,the tank is in my crawl so it's no fun to get at and it is holding pressure in the bladder the pump kicks on @30 and kicks off @50,iv'e been told it is my well point,are there any other variables you can think of and if it is the point what's the cost to fix it or can I do it myself? Thanks oh by the way it is 99 ft deep

hi I posted on here once but don't know if it worked Not using tp1962 you didn't. This is your first post to us.
If everything checks out topside then aboul the only thing left is a clogged well point. Your water table could be dropping and your well starting to silt up.
It will be quite a chore to pull up a hundred feet of suction line to change out the well point. Get three estimates from well and pump guys and have them chek your water levels at the same time. Good luck, Tom

How large is the tank? Did you check the air in the tank? Could be that the bladder is leaking and that you now have a water logged tank. If so, after 2-3 minutes you are just running on pump pressure and volume.

TP, I'd get to where I can see the pressure gauge. It should gradually fall to 30, then at least hold that pressure and hopefully slowly push up to 50 and cut off. That is the first thing you should check. If it falls to 30 and continues to fall with the pump running, then let us know.
