Hi my mom gave me a PC for my kids. When I try to log on to the internet using msn or i.e. it just says loading and never logs on. No my mom used some disk cleaner to clear the PC before she gave it to us and it has that problem ever since. What can I do ?

As a new PC to the home, maybe would be best to install and start from scratch so that you would know you have a clean installation and go from there.

I assume it woud have XP on it? If you have access to an XP disk (with product key) or a set of recovery disks that may have come with the computer, I would suggest 1 of 2 things depending on how you wanted to go

First a repair installation if you did not want to start from scratch (not definite fix, but worth a shot to see if will address the issue as well as others you may not have come across yet)

Repair Installation
A Repair Install will replace the system files with the files on the XP CD used for the Repair Install. It will leave your applications and settings intact, but Windows updates will need to be reapplied.

Perform a Repair Installation (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/doug92.mspx)

Or a clean install from scratch
