View Full Version : Strobe light?

This has happened all my life. But last night it was a lot worse than EVER.
I don't know if it was because my eyes were tired (I had spent 7 whole hours reading my new book eclipse/twilight#3)
Or what I don't know.

But last night, I was going to bed. And I turned the light off. And I normally DO often get this 'strobe light' effect in my vision in the dark. Just barely over my vision. I can still see. But its still there.

But last night it was terrible. I could almost FEEL vibrations from it.

Any thoughts? Is this normal or should I see my doctor? Or was it just from the 7 hours of non stop reading? (which I have done before, and this didn't happen)

See your optometrist.

I agree. This is out of my field of expertise.

Which should I see an optometrist or an opthomologist/

It really doesn't matter. They are both eye doctors. If the Optometrist thinks you need more advanced care, he/she will refer you.

I get something like that from TOO much computer time.
I also have been getting the vibration feeling for over a year but it can't be the computer because I didn't have a computer a year ago.

Oh thanks for bumping up nohelp! I had forgotten to come back to you guys.

Eye doctor (I saw my glasses doctor) said I most likely gave myself a ophthalmic migraines (some people call them ocular migrains)
He said it was from reading too much :P and I probably had it the whole night and just didn't notice it until the lights were out.

Told me to stop reading for hours on end :P and get better sleep. He said there isn't really a treatment for ophthalmic migraines and that they aren't painfull or cause any trouble.

Thanks for the advice guys.
