I really don't know how to say this. Right now I'm at AIT for the National Guard. Basic Training and so far AIT have been going pretty good but, things at home kind of got me questioning a few things.
I do have a girlfriend at home and we talk every night. Everything seems to be going great. She also is in the military so we connect really well. But what I keep getting confused about is this. When I talk to her things seem to be great. It really lifts my spirits to know that I have someone who has been through what I'm going through right now but, there are times where the conversation gets me down. I don't know what it is that gets me down but sometimes when I get off the phone I just don't seem to be in the mood to do anything or even talk to anyone. What's wrong with me. I don't even feel like the same person anymore.

Sounds like you've become really emotionally dependent on her. You need to learn to be independent.
Maybe you shouldn't talk to her so often. Allow yourself to focus on your life and your career. I know it's going to be tough, but it would help you a lot to build more confidence and self-esteem.

Well what I mean by that is that I don't know if it is the conversation that get me down or being here with a bunch of immature people that drive me insane.

I have a few questions for you before I answer the OP:
Are you dissatisfied with the people around you (on your current location)?
(seeing as they are immature people who drive you insane)
What thoughts are making you worried? The fact that at times you feel as if you don't want to talk to anyone or see other people?
What are you questioning?
Thanks,
Roxy

Well what I'm questioning is whether I'm mentally stable. My thoughts range anywhere from self injury to hurting others around me. And like I said, sometimes when I get done talking to my girlfriend it doesn't really help my mood, but at other times it does.

Do you have any thoughts or ideas as to why you feel like you want to hurt yourself or hurt others?
Do you have any history of mental problems, such as depression, anxiety...
Do you feel that maybe; to talk to your girl helps sometimes, but not always might be a reflexion of how you feel that day/week in general?
Do you miss home?
I'm sorry to be bouncing all these questions back at you, but it will really help me get a clearer picture also I don't want to assume, if you know what I mean...
Besides, often we hold more answers to the way we feel then we know or are aware of.
Also, I'm kind of thinking that the reason it might help to talk to your girlfriends at times, but not every time might not be the problem in it self... it might just be a sign of something larger...
Do you feel emotionally numb in anyway?
Have you had to deal with a trauma of some sort (as of late)?
Once again, sorry about all the questions!
