Understanding the formula for projectiles from the ground to hit the top of a cliff

There are a couple of formulas for motion, each finding its use in different cases. The symbols I'll make use of are here:
s = displacement
u = initial velocity
v = final velocity
t = time
a = acceleration
1. v = u+at
2. s = ut+\frac12 at^2
3. v^2 = u^2 + 2as
That's all. Now, I assume if angles are included, you know how to break a velocity into vertical and horizontal components.
I hope it answered your question! :)
Don't hesitate to ask if you don't understand something :)
