Trying to find out how to wire my telephone jack in my house for dsl or internet.

Since I don't quite understand the question, I'll reply with:

DSL can be wired in one of two ways:
Filters
One is used on every location BUT the DSL modem. You cannot have more than 5.

Splitter
Only one is used. It is typically installed at the NID outside. Us experts usually like using the highest pair for the DSL modem.
That pair is wired to one location where the DSL modem goes. The blue/wht, wht/blu pair is still line 1.

You don't have to "re-wire" anything. What you will get is a DSL modem. This modem looks similar to a router.

It will have a jack for an RJ-11 (standard house-phone wire) and then an RJ-45 jack (which is your ethernet [internet] wire)

Look at the attachment and I drew a quick sketch to kind of help you understand.

But other phone lines will need the dsl filters.
