Good evening fellow inquirers :D

My question is this:

Are there available some monitor/display at HIGH resolutions? And by HIGH I mean beyond "full HD 1080".
I been trying to find some info about this subject, but to no real avail. All I seem to catch are a few pics of this or that display showed at whatever electronics show, and that's all :confused:
Whether they call it "super hd" "super vision" "extreme hd" or whatever other name they get on the articles, I can't find anything useful. HXGA, WHXGA, HSXGA, WHSXGA, HUXGA, WHUXGA, this kind of stuff.
It would also be great to know if there's some on a "decent" size-ratio, like 16:9 or something along those "general purpose" ratios rather than crazy super wide screens, that won't be suitable for other than a couple films.
Most I've been able to find, actually, is the Philips line of "3d" stuff and still, there's not much info about those products :(

So... if someone lurking this site can give me some answers or some useful links, I will apreciate it a LOT!

Yep, well... wikipedia did help to give in my own search the official names of higher resolutions; though, that was all. No models, no specs, no availability nor price etc.
Besides the fact that I wasn't looking/talking about the "ordinary" 2560x1600 monitors of which there are enough, be it Gateway or Dell or Samsung and some others. No-no-nope.

That's probably because that's all there is. All of the nitty gritty details is closely held info by the companies producing them. These are special purpose monitors manufactured in low quantities for individual customers, not mass produced to sit on the shelves at Walmart for anyone who happens by. Further, the monitor is just one component of a video system. The video adapter and even the interconnecting cables have to support the full resolution of the monitor. Such a system would be specialized and perhaps monitor specific.

Generally, when a price isn't listed and you have to call the company for a quote and to place an order, the cost is beyond the means of the average Joe. The models you referenced are unique enough to have no direct competition so who needs specs posted? Contacting the companies directly is probably the best way to obtain specific information on these products apart from knowing someone involved in their production.

I hear what you say, still, the lack of info they provide, is... quite a shame. For the Philips option I listed, I actually DID tried to contact Phillips 3 times to no avail. At the same time what little info was there on the site was only for the "smaller" models and couldn't find anything enough "enlightening" on the PDFs.
And lets not talk about the others, cause despite a couple dozen seraches on both Toshiba and Sharp sites didn't show anything about the aforementioned displays.

As I said a shame, guess I will have to continue being "limited " to my two 25 inches Samsung displays.
