Hi:
I was recently offered a laptop at a GREAT price. The only problem is it has no HDMI port (?). Is it possible to add one? If so, is it something that must be done by a professional, is it expensive etc.
It is a Compaq Presario cq50. Apparently it was available with or without an HDMI port, but this one does not have it. It has a small plastic piece covering the opening to where the port would be.
Thanks!

You should be able to get a converter

I agree with the above post. Also they do make USB 2.0 multi-video adapters. It's a HDMI port that plugs in via USB. I would just Google it an dlook around a bit. Just because your laptop doesn't have it doesn't mean it can't have it.

There are ways to get around everything you just have to know where to look. I googled it just to see how popular it was and I got tons of hits, so just look around and Im sure ou'll find what you're looking for.

This link will explain a rpoduct that's similar to everything you need. It will show you the capabilites and explanation of all adapters. It's a USB to DVI. With 6 different adapters. (HDMI is included) with a HDMI output resolution of 1600x1200, which is pretty good.
USB to HDMI Adapter USB 2.0 Video Card DVI and HDMI Output 1600 x1200 (http://www.cooldrives.com/usb-hdmi-adapter-dvi.html)

Like I said look around and you'll find what you need. I priced them and they range from $50-$200.

Hope this helps
