I just went in for my first Dr appointment today. My husband and I are unsure as to how far along I am because I just stopped breastfeeding my 15 month old little girl and I never got a period. The Nurse was unable to find anything on vaginal ultrasound and said it was prob just too early. The last time my husband and I were intimate was Aug 8th. (Weening was a bit uncomfortable) So at the least I would be 4 weeks and 3 days from last day of intercourse. The dr. sent me to get blood work done and I got a message today stating that my HCG levels were around 850 and that I was about two weeks pregnant. Since that is physically impossible, am I doomed to have a miscarriage or is it possible to have levels that low at 6 weeks, which is where my husband and I could only physically put ourselves at the earliest. The nurse hasn't returned my calls and her and I really did not hit it off during my visit. She seemed very irratated that we would come in so early? In our pregnancy. In our eyes we are anywhere from 6 weeks to 9 months pregnant, so that was really condesending, not to mention that is when we were advised to come in when we called regarding our situation. (four weeks after last intercourse) The only thing that my husband and I can guess is that she somehow got the impression that aug 8th was the first time we were intimate instead of the last. I feel like I need some reassurance. My next test is in two days, but if anybody has words of reassurance before then, it would be greatly appreciated. What will be will be, but a little good news would sure help these next couple days go by a little faster.

According to the test for hcg levels, a pregnancy did occur. The two weeks they said, based on the hcg level could be off. Will they test again at your next visit? If a miscarriage has not happened, the hcg level will have gone up. Good luck.
Don't let their treatment of you and your possible pregnancy get to you. The nurse may have been having a bad day. Don't take it personally. If the same treatment occurs again, say something right then. You can be assertive and kind at the same time.
Why do you feel it's physically impossible? It takes almost a week or more for the sperm to reach the egg, fertilize it and the fertilized egg to implant into the uterus.
We usually don't see women until 9 weeks gestation at the EaRLIEST as there is a high risk of miscarriage prior to 12 weeks. No heartbeat is seen at 2, or even 6, weeks gestation.
In our eyes we are anywhere from 6 weeks to 9 months pregnant
6 WEEKS to 9 MONTHS is a big gap. Could you mean 6 weeks to 9 weeks?

The reason for the gap is that I haven't had a period in two years. I breastfed my daughter for over 14 months. I had some spotting, that quickly went away a couple weeks ago so I took a pregnancy test. When it was possitive, it was impossible for my husband and I to know how far along we were because my last period was two years ago. I had spotting throughout my entire second trimester with my daughter due to a partial previa.
When we called to find out when we should schedule an appointment and regarding our predicament, the nurse on the phone suggested that we wait until 4 weeks after our last intercourse to unsure that we would be far enough along to see something. We did just that. So the last time my husband were intamate was 4 and a half weeks ago. That is why a nurse calling and leaving us a message that our test results show me being two weeks pregnant is extremely frustrating, worrysome, and also confusing for my husband as I am sure anybody can understand. ( I am a faithful wife)
Gestation has a two week gap. When a woman is, let's say, 35 weeks pregnant she could AcTUALLY be 33 or 37 weeks. We have no way of knowing until the baby is born and a Dubowitz Test is done, and even then it's still a guess.
I would assume that by 9 months you would be showing by now, you would have had Braxton-Hicks ctx, etc.
Find another doctor... have a blood test taken. I too went 2 years without a period, not because of breastfeeding though, and found out I was pregnant at almost 20 weeks. Time for a different doctor.

I just was going to the same issue. I went to the doctor to take a hcg test and I had to go every 2days so its was 738 and its raised to 2300 and I found out I was 2 months pregnant so scary. But the reason why I took the hcg test was because I was trying to get birth control so they have to check my hcg...

There is a wide range of what constitutes normal with hcg levels. At 850 you could very likely be farther along than 2 weeks and more than likely are. A one time number won't give you too much information other than to help confirm a pregnancy though. You'll need to wait until you can have another ultrasound to get a better idea of how far along you likely are.

My second HCG test was 1875, which was taken two days later. I know that is good in regards to us having a good healthy pregnancy at this point, but My husband and I are really anxious for the ultrasound next week. After taking the pregnancy test it is nuts how pregnant I look already. I guess looking back I did gain about 10 lbs over the summer, so we will have to see if that was kid food weight ( I take care of a couple kids over the summer) or if I am more pregnant than we thought.

Well here is the verdict. We had second ultrasound and unfortunately my pregnancy never progressed past 5 weeks 1 day. (3 weeks from conception.) So now I am just waiting for my body to expel the pregnancy. This means that I have been carrying a pregnancy that stopped progressing almost 4 weeks ago.
