I replaced my old motor with a new one but the new one has 4 wires. The wire colors are the same as the old one as well. The difference is that there arer two purple wires. In the old motor the purple wire connected to the capacitor. At any rate no matter where I put that extra wire the motor won't turn on.

There should be a diagram on the side of the motor telling you exactly how to wire the motor if not then in the box it came in.

What is the brand and Exact part number of the motor in question?
