Recently my truck's A/C began blowing warm air in 85 degree temperature. It improves when I drive it for a while, but it is definitely Not working as it had been for the last 2 years. I took it to the dealer and they said the refrigerant was fully charged; they said I needed to use the "recirculate-max air" setting. I have NEVER had to use that setting for anything other than to catch up after the (black) truck had beet in the sun for a while. The dealer doesn't seem to want to investigate further. I was wondering if anyone could provide suggestions for me to relate to the dealer's "expert" technician

Find out what the low side and high side gauge pressures should be for your truck. Then, attach a manifold gauge set and perform the tests below:

Only then will you know where you stand.

Tex,

Thanks for the advice. However, the tests are way above my own technical ability. Can you suggest what kind of (non-dealer) shop I should look for to go further than the dealer did?

Any shop that regularly does A/C work should easily be able to perform the tests. Get the low side and high side gauge pressures on your own for your specific truck.
