I have a John Deere L130 for 3 years. Have had no problems until now. This summer as I am mowing for an hour or so tractor it quits. Replaced battery, spark plugs and gas filter. Still quitting. There appears to be some type of device on left side of motor that distributes gas after coming out of gas filter. Don't know what the device is. Could this be the problem? Other ideas regarding this problem?

Most certainly can be! It is the fuel pump. If it does not pump in enough volume, too little gas. Briggs part #808656.
