It's a receptionist/bouncer type position. It's the annual flu shot run. The job is for
6 months but it's a government position so the pay is great.

The original flu shot run is 3 months, then they're doing the H1N1 run for 3 months after that.

I'm super exited.

Congratulations! :)

Hey adam,I hate being sick!

We are having an indian summer here at the moment, thousands of white pasty bodies roaming around town this morning... lovely!

Heading out to the garden soon, get some free vit D.

My 8 year old is carrying her new "Pet" around in a basket, his name is rod.

Stay with me here, she found rod last night abandoned and lost,in her room.

Rod is a daddy long legs.

Kids got issues.

I think 8 year olds should have pet daddy long legs and wear their halloween costumes,in September...

How rough is Auzzie football?

I used to play football and the padding don't help too much. You still feel a lot. It is just to protect out head and our upper body.

Could you imagine getting hit by a guy who is 6'6 350lbs and pure muscle with arms as big as your head and running as fast as he can?

Nuh-uh, it's just girly ball with the padding :p

A while back an American football team came to Australia and the Australian Rugby team dared them to play a match against them... without padding. The Americans refused..

Some of the rugby players here do wear padded helmets, buts that's only after they have received a head injury :p

Oh and thanks for the clarification Cats!

I do not live in a shed. I live in a nice cabin by the lake in the woods. With the little problem of having mice get in is really annoying.

I have just found my little mouse friend I was talking about here at work. My boss thought it would be a great idea to buy office trailers. Oh joy! Not.

Well, they suck, and now I keep seeing this fat mouse waddle back and forth from one wall to the other. The slowest mouse I have ever seen. Hey, I could have my own pet at work. I wonder how the hell this mouse got so fat, there is never any food in this scale house.

Have you ever heard a Bosnian accent? It sounds so awesome.

Could you ask your hubby a question for me?

I am being bombarded by flies.

Usually we have mosquitos and tons of them, for the last two years it's flies.

I have 4 indoor rabbits and a husband that likes to keep the door open when he
BBQ's, so they've invaded my house.

I clean the bunnies every day, but still, flies, flies, flies.

They're driving me batty.

Either they go or I do. ;)

When you get done laughing at my answer, try it.

Get a brand name ziploc baggie (brand names have a little heavier plastic) and fill it 1/2 full of clear water. Hang it as close as possible to the entry. It acts as a convex mirror and scares away the flies.

Other methods include zappers (as far away from the house as possible) or flypaper strips. Commercial establishments use sticky traps with the zappers' lights or air curtains at all doorways ($1000 per door and up)

Hi Unky,

It is set up like this;

There are presently four exhibition games that begin in August, purpose is to find the best players from new recruits, and to refine their 'system/s'

The regular season is sixteen games (yesterday was the first game of the regular season).

The teams are divided up into two conferences (The NFC and the AFC). Then within those two conferences are divisions.

Each team plays the teams in their division twice during the regular season and also other teams.

One team each will win their division along with four teams with decent win/loss records, they are called 'Wild Cards.'

At the end of the regular season the winners of each division in their conference and the winner of the Wild Card will play each other until you have one winner from each conference.

These two winners will then play each other in the Super Bowl in January 2010.

Questions? :)

Stringer

Oops, I forgot about your post Stringer :o Sorry that the Bears lost. Are they eliminated right away or is it the system of points in a group, where the two best teams can continue? If that's so, they still have a chance to 'go up' :)

Hey Unky!

I'm not meaning to steal this one away from Stringer but this is the way the system works.

There are 32 teams in the NFL which means the National Football League.

Each team has 17 weeks where they play 16 games having 1 week off per team.

They separate the teams into the AFC and the NFC which mean Amercian Football Conference and National Football Conference and then they separate them even further into divisions and so on.

So each team plays 16 games in a regular season. Right now Stringer's team the Bears are 0-1 with 15 games left to play.

My team the Colt's are 1-0 with 15 games left. Either of the teams could get better or worse. The colts could finsh 16-0 on the season which is unlikely or they could go 1-15 which is also unlikely. Although the Detroit Lions went winless last year finishing up 0-16, and the year before that the Patriots finished up the year before that with 16-0

Anyway depending on you wins and other factors you could go on to face other teams until the final game, known as the Superbowl. It is kind of like brackets on each side with the AFC and the NFC. 2 teams playing each other and 1 goes on to play the next team who was the winner of the other team. Then you have a NFC championship game and the winner of that goes to the Superbowl and the winner of the AFC championship also goes onto the superbowl. The winner of the Superbowl is then known as the champions of the world.

Sorry this was so lenghly. It probably wasn't needed.

Sorry didn't finish that the Bears trade to Denver giving up Orton and their draft pick for Cutler was just a great decision. Well maybe not at the moment but I think it will pay off.

Did you see the Denver vs. Cincinnati game?

I just caught the end and it was 6-0, Denver with less then a minute to go then cincinnati scored a touchdown and got the field goal making it 7-6, Cincinnati. Then with 20 seconds left I don't know what happened there was 18 seconds added on to the clock and they had to kick it off again. Well the kick off was handled in the endzone and taken out to about the 10 yard line where the player tripped on nothing and fell down. Big mistake.
Ortons first throw is thrown to the sidelines and picked off but thankfully it was called incomplete call. Next play: Orton deep deep ball to the far left and the player is triple covered and it bounces off some of the players and right into the hands of Brandon Stokley where he is wide open and runs it all the way for a touchdown making it 12-7 Denver with a failed 2 point conversion and then there is 11 seconds left on the clock and Then there was an interception for the Broncos and game over. Awesome game!

american footbal is one of my pet peeves, simply because its innapropriatly named, i dont get why its called football when as i understand it you only kick the ball once. its actually alot closer to rugby than proper football.

It is somewhere in the middle Bear but it's roots are from Rugby. Originally there wasn't even a 'pass', it evolved after the game originated. American Football started in the colleges and then the professional leagues began.

There is great passion for American Football here Bear, many, many fans. Canada has a very close version of American Football also, the CFL. There were even teams in Europe, Spain, England, and some others.

I a nutshell... it is :), mainly whatever you were brought up with. I played in high school and one year in college.

That is one I can not dispute the differences with you on Bear. The actual pigskin ball we play with is called a football in America for some reason. Even though you are right about it only being kicked so many times per game which instead it is thrown or carried. Where as in your game it is kicked and only kicked. Oh well, That is history as we know it and they won't change it now.

Agreed unky American rugby would be a much better suited name for the sport.

I also agree with stringer and adam that no matter what you call it it is still a very popular sport, (we even have an american football society here at uni) and its been called american football for so long there not really likely to change it (although they should :D)

So how is this Rod doing? I just want to say your daughter is a nut case. I am so terrified of any spider I can't even step on them! I am scared freaking crapless!

She still has the basket, although I'm not sure about rod, she's afraid of spiders, she thinks rod eats them,so ergo, she is protected by the spiders!

Why would a spider go near her if rod is standing guard ready to serve and protect.

How you? How's gavin?

Sunny, Maybe you shouldn't come visit me at my house. I live in the country and I am surrounded by spiders and I am not just talking about little itty bitty spiders but some pretty darn big spiders.

I have had better days.

Gavin will be one happy little boy in a week. He has wanted a DS for like two years. I decided to get him one for his birthday. Plus two games and the case and whatever else goes with it. I will tear up watching him open it. He will be so happy its not even funny.

I'm very independent, and mostly if something is broken I try and fix it if I can,or pay someone to do it.

Brendan wants to help and save me some money,so I let him help.he's the man in the relationship, and does manly things, like fix sinks!

And I get to be womanly and thank him in my own way... get my drift?

Red we think too much alike. I was going to say " any alty would be chasing Stringers (leg) with her wildly long grey hair" Then you say esmerelda and the name so fits the description.

Seriously I never heard of it. But this guy wrote some spin offs of the Wizard of Oz. I am reading "Wicked" right now. Its about the wicked witch and how she became that way. Its so cool. He wrote one about the lion and tin man to and I am going to read them. If you love the movie you should read it. I can send you a copy. Its pretty strange reading actually.
