My bathtub drain all of the sudden came to a snails pace. Allmost a complete stopage. I started with liquid plumber and a later a plunger. No help. I have pulled off the overflow drain plate and tried to run a snake down, but I get stopped at what I assume is the p trap and it will not proceed into it. All the other drains in the house and especially that bathroom work great. Would a hair clog stop it up that sudden? Is it time to call a Pro?

Don't give up yet. You can't plung a tub unless you can seal the overflow plate, try having someone hold a wet towel tightly over the plate or tape plastic over it. What kind of snake are you using, buy, borrow a rotary drum auger which should get through the trap better than a flat snake.

Add: can you access the trap from below?
Sometimes you can, and if you can - take off the trap and clean it out. If it's after that point, you will now know it and post back.

I just had a thought, you said its slow but not dead, right? Flush plenty of water down the drain to get rid of the Liquid plumber before you start rodding.

Don't give up on the snake. Yes there's a return bend to get around but once past that you'll only have 8 or 10 more feet to go. After you snake flush the line out with a tub of hot water. Good luck, Tom
