I have recently bought a computer but it does not have java on it, when I go to try and download java on any browser I mean I have IE, Google chrome, flock, mozilla, it comes up with a warning message saying it can't be done, going to a website page saying page cannot be found, I have tried downloading it on to a usb stick and putting it on the computer but again its not working

Any ideas people because so many sites I like need java and its really annoying me, I will try anything!

Thanks

Suggestions:

Uninstall all JAVA versions from the Control Panel first.
Verify you are downloading the correct installer for your operating system.
Download the full offline installer instead of the smaller online installer. You want the Java runtime environment (JRE) package - Java SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 16.
Verify you have adequate free disk space. Sun's FAQ (http://www.sun.com/download/faq.xml) recommends 2-3 times the size of the installer.

Additional specific details about your issue may yield less general responses.

Go to internet options and click on allow Java.
I have had to do that before.
NOT a computer expert.

Did you restart your computer after you un installed.
If not ,I would do that first.

What URL are you visiting to download it; www.java.com (http://www.java.com?)?
