Single Handle Michael Graves Collection (1768-LHP RP40588). I have received a replacement cartridge to address a constant drip in the tub spout. I have dis-assembled down to the 'Unplated Bonnet" (RP22734) - part of the Trim, Sleeve, Bonnet & O-Ring assembly (RP37732). This bonnet seems to be welded onto the cartridge assembly cap to the point where I'm not sure how much force to employ or perhaps it must be unscrewed? There are no instructions and I'm afraid to damage the faucet. Thank you!

Yes this bonnet nut seems like it is welded, but not it is very fine threaded, apply some WD-40 on it let it soak for an hour and try it with a bigger water pump pliers, good luck.

Thanks John! I will try this & report back. I need to find a pipe wrench as all of my channel-locks are not big enough. I feel better just knowing that it's threaded and that I'm not going to ruin the fixture (as long I'm careful).

Thank you!

Yes be very careful not to ruin the nut, like a said use the WD-40 let it soak, also tap the nut with a screw driver handle to break the calcium build up once it breaks then the removal will be easy, you need a 16” or 18” water pump pliers, I just had one like yours a month ago and with the help of WD-40 and 18” pliers managed to remove it, good luck

Yes John! It worked (as far as changing out the cartridge). Now, I'm just watching it to see if the drip/leak was fixed. If not, there is a replacement kit for the tub spout. This is odd as the shower is only approx. 4 yrs old, hope I won't have to replace every 4 ys!

Thanks again for your valuable assistance, this site is great and your advice was very helpful!
