Kenmore/Whirlpool SxS refrigerator; ice maker won't fill.

The service sheet I found in the kickplate said to check ohms from test points L-M (motor). Reading was about 4065 ohms with power off, not 8800 as suggested on the sheet, but the module was left on the icemaker. Does it need to be unscrewed to get a proper reading, or does this mean the motor is bad?

With the power on, the voltage from L-N was 13.9V, and then later measured 5.6V. In the column labeled "Line Voltage", it says 'Power OK', and in the "0 Volts" column it sayse 'no power'. I assume I should have either 120V or 0 volts for this module test, so what do the low voltage readings I got mean?

Make sure the water is turned on first

THEN

Check the fill valve coil for OHM's and power when the ice maker is calling for a water fill.

The next check is to make sure the icemaker is getting power. Sometimes removing and replacing the power connector will clean up those contacts and the ice make will start working again.

After you have done these SIMPLE things you can get into the more difficult ones you are trying to do now.
