Ahh one of THOSE questions. Well when a woman is having her period, there is a cycle occurring in her body, which causes the bleeding. "way up there", there is a lining called the uterus. Basically, for a woman to become pregnant, she needs to have a fertilised egg (im hoping you know how this happens). This fertilised egg settles in the uterus, which is where it grows into a baby. Keeping up? Every month, the uterus distintergrates, and this is why the bleeding happens. The uterus is a bloody lining. I hope this helps.

I think they are asking why they are having bleeding CONTINUOSLY for a month at a time...

That would be something best discussed with your doctor I'm afraid, there are too many things that could be happening to try and diagnose yousrself.
