Hello, I need advise what better to use for hardwood flooring red rosin or waxed paper? Both are in stock in Home Depot, so I would like to know which one is best. I notice that red rosin paper is absorbing moisture, but waxed paper not, but most contractors are using red paper (why?). May could be better to apply both papers under solid hardwood? If so, then what is sequence? Also, what the role of red rosin paper is it absorbs moisture?
Thanks, A.

The red paper isn't there to absorb moisture but is a slip surface to stop wood to wood contact which would squeek. I have not seen a waxed paper but that doesn't mean it is not a good alternative. I see no reason to try it now since rosin has been working fine for my entire life.
