Some time in the 90s I read a mystery book that had an unhappily married couple who lived in NYC or another big town, the husband is a writer/unsuccessfully who ends up faking his death in a bank bombing. His wife ends up writing his books for under his name and becomes more famous then he ever was. She ends up falling in love with some other guy. The husband ends up coming back and I think tries to kidnap his daughter.


If someone has any idea at all what I'm talking about I would be so happy!!

---i think it was a mystery novel, I believe it had a green cover and the author was a woman whose name I believe started with an M.
