A little background on the situation:
My brother is 17 and married to a girl who is 20, my parents signed the papers for him to get married in the state of Indiana in Feb. this year - stupid, I know. Thing is, as expected, his wife asked for a divorce recently; unfortunately, she decided she wants to get back together - and of course he agrees to this. So, this week she got back from her CA trip and they were supposed to talk on wed but she was too tired, then she was sick and then yesterday and today his school (he's a "senior" in HS still) called to say he didn't come to class - my mom has the idea that since he is legally married that she cannot make him go because she is no longer responsible for him but the school said that she is and that she needs to be taking action (we haven't seen my brother - either locked in his room or out with friends) and make him go to school.

Does anyone know what the laws in Indiana are regarding the situation? Or if you know a website that contains this type of info could you please post it...

If he is married, he is legally emancipated from his parents. They are not responsible for his actions legally.

If he is legally married then he is legally emancipated. The thing is... in Indiana, (and some other states I would imagine) when it comes to school even over the age of 18 the student is still considered a minor. So, like my brother and I were 18 for our senior years my parents still had to sign our field trip forms. Your parents need to tell the school that he is legally married and therefore not their responsibility anymore. They may also want to get a consultation with a lawyer (if they don't have one already) because sometimes the school can be really pushy especially with our "no child left behind" thing that was started a couple years back and what-not.

As far as the school goes they have no clue. If the marriage was legal then he is emancipated and therefore can sign his own documents. Your mother is no longer responsible for him period.
