Hi there, I am splitting up from my partner of over 5 years and would like a question answered please.we bought our house off her mum and dad when they moved to spain.I had a house before we got together which I sold and the £70,000 profit I made on that I put down as the deposit on our house together.when I sold my place I was then moving into a fully furnished place as it was her parents so everything I had at mine I did not need so I gave it all away and moved in with nothing.could you please tell me where I stand.she says she wants exactly half of everything baring in mind she started with nothing as she lived there with her parents,I just think it was only right that I should at least get back the £70,000 that I put down ,I mean I think it would be unfair for her to walk away with all that and I walk away with less than I started with baring in mind that we have made equity on our house now so she would get half of that anyway.

p.s we are not married. I would like to know where I stood.

You do not need to post on new forums, we see all the questions.
Yours is a difficult situation, please give it some time before you expect some response.
In the end, you will have to consult an attorney/counsel.
