I have a GE GSS25WGMC side-by-side fridge. Unfortunately I keep getting a ton of frost and ice showing up in my freezer. It shows up on the food, and all the metal parts, including the ice maker and the solenoid for the ice maker crush/cube selector. This is causing my freezer to only output crushed ice, which is annoying.
If I take out the ice auger motor and solenoid, thaw them out and put them back it will work for about 3 hours, then freeze over again. I've also done this with the ice maker turned off, so I don't think it's water overflowing from the icemaker. Because of how fast it's freezing over, I'm doubting it's a heater problem, but then again I'm no pro. I've looked around for leaks, and haven't seen anything obvious.
Anyone have any suggestions?
