I am 18 years old living in england and pregnant with my first child. The father is 17 and I am not married to him. We are no longer in a relationship and I want don't want him to have the baby over night when it is born and I would like to be there when he sees our child a few days a week which I believe to be reasonable. However this is not good enough for him and he keeps telling me that he is going to take me to court and go for full custody of our child. He is saying that I have said he is never going to see the baby but I have told him he can as long as I am there until he has proved himself. What are his rights to seeing our child? He has been to the doctors and they have said he is suffering from mild depression and he has told me that he self harms. He also phones me regularly to threaten that he is going to kill himself. I am quite happy to let him see the child as long as I am there as well but he isn't interested. What are his rights and where do I stand in not letting him see our child whenever he pleases?

Go file for primary custody and let the Judge issue the custody/visitation order.
IF you have legitimate concerns about how he will treat the baby request the visits be supervised and why.
Also file for child support while you are at it.
Until you get court orders you will have to work out the agreement on your own but you really should get the orders to protect yourself

At least that is the way it is done in the USA
