I was just given a Francis Bacon Upright Piano that appears to be for a child (40" High, 36" Wide, 22" Deep, 4.5 Octaves) it has an imprinted number (255541). I am trying to determine the age and value and possible cost of restoring/tuning this piano back into use so that I can make a decision on whether to keep it. It is missing one string and is very out of tune. Any help is apprectiated - Greg

Hi, Greg!

By the way, my name is Craig. What you have is a very small piano that was built to be suitable for apartments.

Would it be possible for you to post a couple images of the outside of the case and bench, (if there is one), here as well as images of the action here, please?

I've been a piano tuner/technician since 1974. Have rebuilt and refinished many pianos since then. I also know ways that I can evaluate the sound of what you have via the Internet that won't cost you anything to do that.

Let's work on this, please!

Thanks!

If you're still there gzellmann, there are some questions that I would like to ask you. We don't need any photographs of your piano to dialogue about them.

Thanks!

I just recently bought a very similar instrument... Did you ever find out the year and value of the one you have?
