I work for a nursing home. I was at the dentist about four weeks ago to have a pre surgery consult to get a tooth removed that is hurting me. I was informed by the secretary that I had no insurance.

I have been paying for insurance through my work since 6 of 2008, which I have the pay stubs to prove.

At this time I still have no insurance with bcbsnc. I am unable to go to the doctor or get this hurting tooth removed. I have asked at work and they keep telling me that they have taken care of it, but to this date I still am not listed with bcbsnc as having coverage.
I want to know what I can do. Please advise.
Thank you

First, please pay more attention to posting guidelines. This was moved from the Introductions area which is clearly marked as not for asking questions.

You need to escalate this with your employer. They are the only ones who can get this setup.

Talk with your Human Resources manager. They should be able to get you a Certificate of Insurance showing proof of coverage. As Scott said, push the issue and stay on top of them to get it done!

Also, be sure that you are paying a separate premium for the dental coverage because most likely it isn't included in basic health coverage.
