I just got a new teaching job in a near by city and the hour commute each way is killing me. I'm also putting almost 100 miles a day on my car. My roommate is a slob... and I'm just sick of teaching all day... dealing with kids... driving forever home and then having to clean up after a lazy girl to have a clean house or a dish to eat off. My boyfriend and I have decided to move in together closer to my work (and his) and have found a nice place.
My lease isn't up for another 4 months. So I'm going to hold my end of the bargain and pay my rent in the current place until it's out.
The problem is telling the roommate. All of the bills are in my name so I'm transferring them so I don't have to pay deposits again and all of the furniture in the common areas is mine as well... not to mention dishes and other household items... so when I move it's going with me. How do I let her know what's going on? And do I need to help her pay bills? I think not... but boyfriend thinks I should contribute since I'm just leaving suddenly...
