I have had my comp for almost a year now, but it started to froze every time when it finished loading windows. So I reformat the HDD, ever since I have been trying to install windows I got errors. I kept doing the reformat process and now it only says when I try to install windows "The image ntvdm.exe is possibly corrupt. The Header checksum does not match the computer Checksum" been having this prob for a week now. Though I could fix it myself, but now I really need advice. Need to do so much work in my computer but can't cause I'm having this problem. Any kind of help would be nice

File corruption is typically due to failing/faulty device and/or its cabling. Suggest first running the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility to verify the hard drive. Then once drive is confirmed, make a DOS or Windows 9x boot disc with CD drive support and copy the contents of the Windows CD over to the hard drive and install from there. Copying the Windows CD may help expose any CD drive problems by forcing errors.
