Hello righty's:

I know I've disappointed some of you with my reasonablness of late. You thought I was one of you. Bummer to find out that I don't adhere to an ideology..

But, hang on. I haven't abandoned you. I think Obama is more RIGHTY than a lefty. You should cut him some slack. He's actually one of you... Here's the WRONG right wing things he's doing:

1. Failing to recognize that Afghanistan is going to be HIS Vietnam, or HIS Iraq,

2. Failing to FIX health care by not offering single payer, and failing to mandate a public option,

3. Nominating a conservative associate justice even if she's Latino,

4. Failing to close Gitmo,

5. Failing to release a detainee a Federal judge told him to release,

6. Supporting a dufus era idea of keeping detainees FOREVER with no charges,

7. Failing to prosecute the torturers and those who ordered torture,

8. Promising NOT to hire lobbyists, and doing it IMMEDIATELY,

9. Promising to end Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and then NOT doing it.

10. I'm sure there's more...

Ahhhh now you are getting a glimpse of the bigger picture here Ex.

Maybe you will be putting down that koolaid you have been holding onto (even if you haven't drank it yet) long enough to figure out what to do with the tin foil hats you may be starting to see on the lefties heads.

WOW EC I really think you have your acronyms mixed up. All the things you cited are HIS talking points that he claimed HE would do in his first year.
No right wing (as you call us) has ever supported closing Gitmo and moving those combatants to American soil. No righty has ever pushed for health care. Remember HillaryGate? Conservative judge? HA! She has had more decision reversed than any federal judge in history I believe.
This guy is lefy winged for sure. The problem is he is not left far enough for the likes of dingy Harry and what's her name, that speaker who is single handidly supporting at least one plastic surgeon.

I completely agree about Afghanistan . I have asked before what the strategic mission was there and I have yet to hear a satisfactory one. At first I thought he was going to move to a graceful exit ,but it appears now that NATO seems fixated on the idea of keeping a long term nation building presence there for 20 years or more . I even heard that type of talk in Canada this week although the Canadians are still committed to bugging out.

As for health care there is video of him and other Dems describing their deceptions . They know the American public reject outright single payer socialist systems so they have opted for trojan horse incrementalism .

I will be pleasantly pleased if Sotomayor turns out conservative but please tell what positions she takes that leads you to believe she is one .

I told you that the Bush doctrine would be the template in battling jihadistan so when confronted with reality Obama would opt for the proven successful plan.

We also warned you that he was a typical Chi-town politician and that campaign promises are things to be used or ignored expediently.

My mind is clearer now
At last All too well I can see
Where we all Soon will be
If you strip away The myth
From the man You will see
Where we all Soon will be
('Heaven on their minds' from Jesus Christ Superstar)

So you have come to the conclusion there is no difference, what flavour did you want chocolate and vanilla or vanilla and chocolate? You got both with Obama,

The reality is all modern politics is a matter of degree and bending with the wind

Hello righty's:

I know I've disappointed some of you with my reasonablness of late. You thought I was one of you. Bummer to find out that I don't adhere to an ideology..

Oh... is that what you call your stubborn inability to accept facts as facts... to you that is called "reasonablness".

Ok, Mr. Reasonable. Whatever you say.

Only if he screws it up.

But hey, I thought that you were in favor of attacking Afghanistan but against attacking Iraq. That was what you claimed in the past anyway...

2. Failing to FIX health care by not offering single payer, and failing to mandate a public option,

How do you "mandate" a public opinion?

And polls show that 67% of Americans (inluding 46% of Dems and 70+ percent of independents) are against a single-payer health care plan. THAT is the mandate.

3. Nominating a conservative associate justice even if she's Latino,

Really? Who?

4. Failing to close Gitmo,

Yep... Reality jumped up and bit him on the @$$, and he has now realized that he's got no place to put the terrorists if he closes Gitmo.

5. Failing to release a detainee a Federal judge told him to release,

Who?

6. Supporting a dufus era idea of keeping detainees FOREVER with no charges,

Actually, that would be a George Washington-era idea. Or perhaps a Belisarius-era idea, if you really want to go back far enough. Perhaps an Alexander the Great-era idea. But let's not let history get in the way of a good rant.

7. Failing to prosecute the torturers and those who ordered torture,

What torture? You mean people who ordered the enhanced interrogations, like Nancy Pelosi?

8. Promising NOT to hire lobbyists, and doing it IMMEDIATELY,

You actually believed that promise?

9. Promising to end Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and then NOT doing it.

To what end? What's the advantage to ending it, other than to make gay people feel good? Does it make the military stronger? Does it help recruitment efforts? Does it make fighting a war easier? Does it make running an army easier? What would he get out of it other than keeping a voting block that wouldn't vote for his opponents anyway. There is no political or military advatage to it for him.

Sure it is a reasonable post it shows that Ex is starting to see the light that Obama LIED
And the only CHANGE he is making is changing his mind.

Well, there's also the change he's leaving me in my pocket. Cause he's emptying my wallet.
