Hello, I hope someone could help me.
I have a 4 ton a/c unit: we live in a Mobile Home double wide 32x64, year 2001 Cavco. Our house runs south & north, a/c unit north side. It’s a five bed. Live in Phoenix and a weather alert temp is above 115. We had our a/c service this year, was told everything was OK. Our August bill was almost $500.00. We clean the filter, even had to defrost out coils last month. I've cover windows to make it darker; we use fans in bedrooms living & dining area and keep our temp at 75. Then we started to see a difference in the a/c unit constantly running all the time. The blower is not blowing out hard enough and blowing mild cool air. We keep our thermostat set 75, it’s been reading 80 and the system can’t seem to catch up to cool down. I'm scared to death that there is something really wrong.
Reason is: We had to replace our a/c fan. At that time our compressor shot down it made a popping & crackling noise last year. The color of the compressor was slightly orange instead of black. Could it of burned up part of the compressor?
