He is still a baby and has been taken away from his mom and his littermates, plus everything he is familiar with. Continue following the vet's advice and gradually give him small amounts of puppy food (others here will advise you about that). Also, give him lots of love and attention, and get him used to you and your household.

You've gotten love that stubborn streak! I have 2 of them myself and they both acted that way when I got them. My vet suggested warm milk to ease them into eating on their own and then the second day I added a little wet puppy food to it and kept uping the ratio of food to milk until it was just food... just give him a little time to adjust to a brand new home and surroundings. I wish you both luck and hope he starts eating soon!

He may just take a while to adjust to his new surroundings.

What is his temperament like?
Is he a very outgoing puppy or does he tend to be a little cautious about new things?

You could try soaking the dry food in water.
Just boil some water and pour half a cup over the dry food and leave it covered for about half an hour.

The water will soak into the dry food and it might be a bit more tempting to eat. As he gets used to it decrease the amount of water you add so it becomes harder with each feed.

Is he drinking OK or just not taking any food?
