Hi!

I seem to be willing to admit that I may have a problem that goes beyond a standard case of diarrhea.
A few days ago, I started having MISERABLE cramps that would immediately be accompanied by what I thought was a straightforward case of diarrhea, but it kept on going.

It's still happening today with less pain, however, I'm now suddenly struck with immediate urgency and not much besides what appears to be a couple of ounces of water comes out accompanied with exhausting contractions that keep me there for about 5-10 minutes. The best way I can describe it is my colon has severe dry heaves.

Just a little bit of history. I've recently completely stopped drinking and was a moderate and sometimes heavy drinker (5 weeks sober now)
And have done 8 days on The Master Cleanse since. I stopped the cleanse about 2 1/2 weeks ago.
On Tuesday night, I went out for authentic Sichuan, (ie. EXTREMELY hot, laced with red chili peppers) food, but I've eaten at this very restaurant countless times. This has never happened.

My current appetite has not been affected by this but I do feel a good deal of fatigue from this, I would imagine. I don't really notice anything unusual about being bloated. I always feel like I'm at least kind of bloated, but that may be a body image thing.

The only area of my body in acute pain is the very lowest part of my colon and rectum ( I think? They are the last passage on the way out... )

Any advice?

If the problem began after the spicy meal, perhaps your digestive system is irritated from the cleanse . It also sounds like you may have a blockage of some sort, as the fluid is not usually present in a properly functioning colon. Lay off the spices and irritants(chocolate, coffee, etc), eat mild food and lots of water for a day or two and see how it goes. If you have continued diarrhea, see a doctor, you could have a bowel infection, which may need medical intervention. Good Lucky

Try some Kaopectate and see if that stops your squirts for now.

Although I appreciate your response, I don't seem to think you understand the nature of what phase I'm at with this.
I'm not having "the squirts" as you put it.
That's why I'm concerned. If it were a simple case of "the squirts" I wouldn't be bothering anyone here in this forum.

Something else I thought of, did you eat the pepper pods? You could have diverticulitis, which is a weakening in the wall of the colon/intestines which can sometimes become infected and can cause partial blockage, tenderness in the left lower quadrant of your abdomen. Blood test would confirm the presence of infection, and if you are susceptible to diverticulosis, in order to avoid further attacks, lots of fluids, and keep away from things that are hard or impossible to digest, i.e. nuts, popcorn, sticks(as in rosemary or other herbs). I'd think about seeing a doctor, just to be on the safe side, bowel blockages can turn into perforations, which are very bad. Best of Luck to you

Thank you so much Anniebelle1!
I think I may have to make an appointment tomorrow.

My Mom lost a 10" section of her intestine from Diverticulitis.

Scary stuff. I just thought it affected mainly folks in their 50's and 60's.
Yes, good luck indeed!

Thanks again!
Sue

On your other post you said you were taking master cleanse and that will cause these symptoms as your body is ridding the toxins. The fact that you quit and it is still happening can be a problem if it doesn't start getting regulated soon.

I gave you a good bit of answers on the other post so I don't want to repeat them but on the stool issue.
Your stool will tell a lot about your health and nutrition
For example
Green can be too much vegetables or too much iron.

I'll post a link so that I don't have to be typing it all out right now
Stool Colors - Green Stool - Black Stool - Red Stool (http://ibdcrohns.about.com/cs/otherdiseases/a/stoolcolors.htm)
