I have a 7 year old pitbull and he is in heat:confused:. I was wondering if there is something I can do to calm him down? He won't stop wining. I will be getting him neuter in a few days. Thanks for your time

He is likely reacting to a female in your area.

If there is a female nearby that is in estrus, keep them in separate areas entirely.

Yeah we have a 9 month old female who just got her period. We have been keeping them separated. He is just driving me nuts with the winning lol. Thank you for your answer.

You're quite welcome, UniQQ. I'm just happy that you're neutering him!
I strongly suggest that you spay the female as soon as she is out of estrus (they don't call it a 'period' with dogs).
Once they're both altered, they should be wonderful companions for one another.
Until he's neutered, he's just a guy in love and is telling you all about it!

Yes, please take care of them both as soon as you can. Vets don't like to spay females when they are in season. And please watch her carefully. You may shocked at the effert she makes to get to him or any other male. Accidental breedings help keep our shelters overflowing.
