I've just bought a phone adaptor Cisco/Linksys SPA2102. It requires that I go online and type Index of / (http://192.168.0.1) and follow the instructions. Unfortunately my browser rejects my request, saying that the link seems to be broken. I don't know what that means and I don't know how to get into that 192.168.0.1. Can anybody help me please?

Hope that is what you wanted. Not sure, but it's what it sounded like.

Two options:

A. Use 192.168.1.1 through any browser*IE works fine

B. Double check the connections and power settings.

That's not really going online. Your phone adapter is probably using VoIP to make calls through your network. Apparently some level of configuration is needed. That address is probably IP address of the device and should open a configuration page.

That sounds about right. I was able to click on both of the links and got to a page giving me some info about my connection, including saying that was the IP of my modem. It didn't, however, work when I just tried typing it in.
