Gen 48:19
19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
(KJV)

The words of Israel here are prophetic.

My question is where are the "multitude of nations"today?

The relatively small number of Jews world wide can hardly be all of Israel's descendants, and the tenor of the words lead me to think of nations in addition to Israel proper.

I'm not pushing the Anglo-Israel theory here. It is an honest question.

One more: What can you tell me about the Middle Eastern name of Daoud, including proper pronunciation. (Rhymes with?? )

Daoud (pronouced as dah-ood) also spelled as Dawood, I think the Christian equivalent would be David.

Just wondering. Mine is spelled Doud.
Any idea as to the origins of that name?

I am not sure of the origin of the name other than that for muslims it is from the personal name Dāwūd (meaning "beloved" in Arabic and Hebrew I think), Arabic form of David.
In Islam, Dāwūd(alaihi salaam) is a messenger of Allah, noted in particular as the father of the Prophet Suleiman.

It is mentioned in the Quran that Zaboor (Arabic name for Psalms was revealed to him).

Interesting because the names are pronounced almost exactly the same. I did some looking on the 'net and found Doud called a variant of Dowd, as is Daoud.

Dowd seems to be a shortend version of an old Irish name, which I would have to look up again to spell.

Still hoping someone can shed some light on the descendents of Ephraim.
