Can someone please summarize the documents checklists, for conversion from H4 dependent visa to F1 student visa. My wife is at college studying on H4 status, but would like to convert the status to F1 for take further internships in her field. I would like to know the steps involved for this conversion. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Get the SEVIS I-20 from the DSO, make sure the H-4 is valid up to the point of the approval and start of the program. Will need passport, visa, I-94, evidence of finances, etc. check with the DSO, they usually file for the students.
