These are really bugging me (no pun intended)

I hope this picture works. It's the best one I could get.

All 3 bites are HARD. Not welps. They are solid. And I've never had that before.

The spot on the larger bite is a sore. It just apeared today (3 days after the bites) and its worrying me a little bit. I don't scratch them (unless I do it subconciously in my sleep) I don't have any benadryl yet, I'm getting some tomorrow, until then I've been putting vasaline on it and covering it with a bandage to prevent scratching.

I hope I can get some answers :)

*EDIT* sorry forgot for size.

The SMALL ones are the size of quarters. Hence another reason I'm worried about the big one

I cleared the pic up some on my edit thing and they look really black and blue. The bite marks look so big too.

Ooh thank you hon. I don't know how to do that :D that's much better to see.

Yeah they are dark purpleish red. The little spot is almost black. They freaked my husband out cause he thought they were bruises

*EDIT* its my leg by the way. And I'm NOT a small girl! My calf is really big so that helps to understand the size of the area too.

That is sure one way of getting caught cheating I wonder if it would be a first?

Anyway I think if they get any bigger you better get to the ER.
You can try putting calamine lotion or baking soda paste on them and try taking Benadryl for the itching

It could possibly be a spider bite or a mosquito bite that is infected or something

Catch him cheating or me cheating? *sorry I confuse easy lol and I'm tired, I just 'purged' aylas room today and it took a good 3 hours. Lol.

Yeah I was thinking about urgent care. Do you think ER would be needed? Or could it wait for the urgent care tomorrow? (if they get bigger or worse or something)

J_9 would probably have a better idea but I have seen worse before people went but then you don't know what it was that bit you. You should be okay I would THINK since its three days later. If it gets any larger I would go to the ER for sure,

Okl thanks hon. Yeah it happened over night sleeping 3 nights ago. It didn't hurt, or at least not enough to wake me up. And it didn't hurt in the morning, just itchy.

Since you said there's a hard welt at each bite I'm guessing either spider or chigger. The bruising is unusual in either case. Definitely ride on down to Urgent Care, for the bruising if nothing else.

Well, I wanted to update you guys in case someone was interested.

I did end up going to the ER. Because on top of being itchy I became PAINFULL. Very very sore. Like a bruise being pushed on even though no one was pushing on it.

So the doc said that to him I looked like a minor bite from an ant maybe (which I'm betting on ant because I was helping my mom kill ants last weekend on her back portch)

And it got a bacterial infection called cellulitis. And thank you thank you everyone for telling me to go in, because he said I was LUCKY. It was a mild case, and it hadn't hit my blood stream or any lymphnodes or anything like that. Which would have meant hospitalization and IV antibioics

He gave me erythromycin (he almost gave me amoxicillin, then remembered at the last moment to look at my allergys. GRR bad doctor bad bad boy, go to your room!:P )

He also was nice enough to give me a tube of benadryl cream so that I wouldn't have to pay for it at the store. ;) nice doctor hehe.

So yeah... that will teach me to mess with ants (im already allergic to the little jerks, and now this)

So thank you very much for telling me to go to the doctor. *hugs* have a good night everyone

If they were ants I wonder if they were fire ants because fire ants are the only ants that I know that leave that big of a bite and bruising

Or army ants. We have army ants here. They WERE really big. Lol. Had I known I was going to get bit this bad by them, I would have taken a picure lol. Let me see if I can find a pic of what they looked like

Here is the closest pic I could find of the 'little' guys we had on my moms porch.

Called carpenter ants.

Those look like a species called "big headed ants." Guess why.

jenniepepsi

Big head? ;)

I'm not absolutely possitive these are them :P they just look like them. They were large (a little bigger than a wasp/yellow jacket) and black, and had really long antanae on their heads.

Another species in the large ant with nasty bite category are Harvester ants. They can build huge nests.

These are the same shape bites that my children have and I have skin pigment changes in these shapes, they are similar to the shape or AMEOBA and this is why I have been tested for AMEOBIC DYSENTERY yet ameoba's are meant to be microscopic, I wish I had the answers but the only evident proof I find in my clothes or on my skin is tiny fibers or balls of fluff which I am certain are a fungus or mould but nobody will test it and find out for certain. The fibers show up as ORB'S or BUBBLES when caught in camera yet they react to tea tree oil like some kind of worm. It's madness to think we are all crying out for answers and a cure yet no scientist or specialists in any field, seem to know what it is "other than dellusion or mental health problem". Burn's gel should take the redness away and antihystamines will ease the itchy burning sensations, I wish I could be of more use, check the other topics and see if any of the links make any sense to what your going through and good luck x

Ooh those harvester ants look vicious. I'm glad that's not what was on moms porch!

That sucks insanitisation. I hope you figure out a way to prevent the bites :(

That's accually a great idea trying the burn gel. As its got a topical anestialgic. ( I didn't spell that right but you get it. The spell check didn't give me any suggestions :( )

Did that sound enough like Judd Hirsch from Independance Day? What is a male yenta called?

What is a male yenta called?
A menta?

A white-collar middle aged man who loves to talk about his greatness and brag about his possessions (BMW, boat, homes, etc... ) The Menta usually talks in a loud annoying voice in public places. Unlike the Yenta, he doesn't talk about others, he mainly talks about himself. Usually found in packs.

How much further off topic can I take this before I have to moderate myself?

Jennie, how are the bites this evening?

Thank you all so much.
