I live in Alaska and the child support order for my daughter is in Washington state. Her "sperm donor" only pays child support when he gets off his but and gets a job which is almost never. He is over 9,000$ in debt. He has no visitation rights or anything. He has never seen my daughter EVER! (or wanted anything to do with her) When I filed for child support I said I never wanted him to have anything to do with her and he did not contest it. I am now married (have been for 3 1/2 years) and want to just get him out of the picture for good. I don't even want his money.. back child support maybe but if getting him to sign his rights away means I have to forgo that then fine. My husband wants to adopt my daughter and I want her last name changed to my married name. How do I do all of this? Do I have to file in Washington State Courts or do I file in Alaska? And what do I file? Where do I start? I know I should probably hire a lawyer but we are in the military and we can't really afford one. Any advice would help. Thank you

You tell him you are married and your husband wants to adopt and that would stop any future payments.
You have to go through family court. I'd tell him your intentions first.

I would also like to say that I have not had contact with him in over 7 years. So asking him to cooperate is out of the question. He is a spiteful, drug addicted, abusive, hateful man. And he has and would refuse to do anything for me.

Do you go back to court and keep enforcing that he pay up? If you keep going back to get the order enforced then he might listen to get out of any future accumulation of support
