I know I'm young but me and my boyfriend have been trying to conceive for 7 months. I'm beginning to think I can't get pregnant. I've checked my ovluation dates, changed our eating habbits and lifestyles I've tried everything. Are there any conceiving tricks or methods I should be clued in on? I'm open to any advice. I just want my baby soon and I don't know what's wrong.

I'm beginning to think you have no idea what comes with the responsibility of having a baby.

A baby is not a pet. You can't give it away once you get tired of it. You're right: you ARE too young, and you're not even married. Why don't you guys get married first if you love each other so much?

Can you financially support a baby? They aren't cheap!

I think you need to reconsider trying to get pregnant.

I've heard that it can take up to a year before a healthy fertile couple is able to conceive. And after that is when you should see a dr if you still haven't.

I know this is off topic, but why do you want a baby so badly right now? Are you ready for one financially and emotionally? I'm a little bit older than you. And I'd love to have a baby. Except there's no way I would be able to properly care for it at this point in my life. I'm just curious if or how you're able to. I hope you don't mind my asking.

I went two years of unprotected sex and thought I couldn't have babies. Then I had four practically in a row. My first was born Aug 30, 1984. My fourth on July 27, 1988

Considering all of the things that need to happen in order for a pregnancy to occur, its surprising it happens as much as it does.
A fertility specialist would probably not even consult with you unless one year had passed.

I can understand the maternal pull of wanting a child but you are very young and chances are you would end up a single mother.

Chances are that you would also end up in a dead end job and your child would suffer as a result.

It takes more than love to be a good parent.

The way you feel at 18 and the way you will feel at 22 are vastly different. You have yet to experience your life as an adult.

The cost of having a child is enormous.
Here is a link you should investigate just to give you an idea of the cost.
There is also the emotional toll that no one can prepare you for.

I agree it takes more than love. Love was ALL I had to give my kids and I feel bad that they had to go through as much as they did being poor.
You get by but it's the difference between just surviving and really having a life.

I had my son at seventeen. You have no idea how naïve you are, thankfully thus far a higher power has been watching out for you. Keep playing with fire and you will get burned. You can't change a bad choice once it's made.

Part of the responsibility means involving a doctor in your care.

If you haven't already, start taking prenatal vitamins with folic acid ASAP (must be in your system before conception) and schedule a pre-conception appointment with your OB/GYN to speak about your situation - it's the right way to start the process of trying for a baby.

Your age has nothing to do with weather or not you're able to get pregnant. Pregnancy is a tricky thing and it takes precise timing to achieve it. If you really feel that you are ready, and you and your boyfriend have stable jobs and are able to support a baby at this point in your life... maybe go talk to your family doctor.
There are also ovulation kits you can buy that help take the guessing off trying to figure out your ovulation dates.

Just be careful, a baby isn't something that you can put on the back burner, it changes your life forever.
