I have been struggling for a while just to think of a few books-can someone please help?
(1) This was about a detective who enjoyed going to the races-was a suspense story of sorts-was dating a woman who at the end bought him their favorite pub and put a balloon awning out front (don't know why I remember this!)
(2) This was a suspense story in which the main character was a girl in med school, her mom had schizophrenia and was in the hospital at the med school; the girl stumbled across some bad stuff going on at the home of her mentor and almost died; he had a greenhouse with a night blooming cereus.
(3) This is a young adult story, a little older, in which the main character is a teen who goes to live in a foster home-the owner is an elderly lady-the girl starts taking gymnastic lessons and finally the two get attached to each other and the girl gets to stay on permanently
(4) This is a fairly older children's story-the kind in the library with the solid cover and plain lettering on the cover-and the main girl was named Penny because of her copper colored hair-she lived in an apartment building and a young man in her class invited her to a school dance in one of the chapters.
(5) I read one fiction-romance-ish-book written apparently by the husband and wife but were listed as just one person on the cover.

Weird, not much details, but the best I can do-enjoy the challenge-thanks again!

I don't know about all of the books, but I do think I have book no. 3 on your list. Or at least it kind of reminds me of the story line in that one. I'm going to check it out and get back to you tomorrow.

Lol although it might not be the book... ;)

I checked out the book (that I thought might have been book no.3 on your list.)

But I was wrong. The one I have is about a girl who looses her dad and has to move with her mom and brother... etc etc. (The finishing school, by gail goodwin)

So I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help! Best of luck!

Maybe by author Judith Michael? (Judith is the wife; Michael is the husband.)
