I would like to break my residential lease in Florida because I am moving to another state to get married. How much will it cost me?

How much remains on your lease? Is there a termination clause in the lease?

You could be held liable for the balance of the lease.

Florida is THE worse state to break a lease in.

Their laws are structured to hold the tenant liable for the entire lease. This means that the landlord does NOT have to mitigate his damages by finding a replacement tenant. He can just sit back and collect rent from you for the duration of the lease. If you fail to pay... he can sue you for the remainding months plus court costs, late fees and attorney fees.

Getting married is not a legal reason to break your lease without penalty.
