A sled has a constant acceleration of 2.0ms-2 and starts from rest.
(a) how fast is it going after 5.0
(b) how far has it traveled in 5.0s?
(c) what is its average velocity in the first 5.0s?
(d) how far has it traveled by the time its velocity has reached 40ms-1?

A car, initially at uniform velocity, accelerates at 1.0ms-2 for 12s. If the car travelled 190m during this 12s period, what was the velocity of the car when it started to accelerate?

Make use of v = u + at

v = final velocity
u = initial velocity
a = acceleration
t = time

s =ut+\frac12 at^2

s = distance travelled (in fact it is displacement)

Average velocity = Total Distance / Total time

v^2 = u^2 + 2as

Use these formulae, you'll be able to solve all these problems.
