I came home from work and my common law wife of 7 years had picked up the kids from daycare and left with police stating to them I was abusive . We haven't had any phisical fights just arguing. I fear she is going to take flight to Alaska from Texas where we live where her family is how can I stop her and file for emergency custody so she can not leave the state with our kids? Please help!!

If your married you will have to file for divorce inorder to change anything. Do you know where she and the children are ? Have you been served with any paperwork ?

Get a lawyer IMMEDIATELY. Since you were not legally married (unless your state recognized common law marriages, you should be able to file for an emergency custody hearing.

First has your status as father been determined,
1. are you on the birth certificate
Or 2. was it proven by DNA

But you need to file NOW, and this is going to be complicated so get an attorney
