From what I just looked up and from what I could tell most papaya soaps for skin lightening contain Kojic Acid as an active ingredient so I would check to see if that brand contains the kojic acid.

It burned my skin when I first started of course I was using mono at the time. I use it now, no stinging nothing. I adapted.

I just ordered this soap a few days ago, waiting on arrival. I have used diana stalders kojic soap in the past and it works well. I just want to see which one works better.

I am using likas right now... and it has kind of improved my tone by 1-2 shade but I only use it on body as its too strong for my face and might cause wrinkle later...

I never used Likas Papaya Soap before, I did use Diana Stalder Papaya Kojic soap and it worked well for me. I used it along with Bio Claire cream and then I had switched to Makari. It burns which, was expected because it works like it's own chemical peel. But within a few weeks the burning stopped.

Probably just the name of the brand. I read that some of the independent sellers add hq to their soap so it's best to use a good branded one.

Yes hopefully my soap arrives soon. I know with Diana stalder it was really good. It helped so much with my oily skin. I hope the likas does that as well.

Soap has just arrived I have it on my face now for about 3 min now no stinging, not sure if it does but maybe I'm used to it after getting through the DS. I really hope it will control my oily skin because that way any creams that I used will work better.

Yeah I hate having oily skin cause I have a problem with acne and breakouts. The papaya kojic soap helped a lot w/ my acne and fading some of my scars, but I ran out so I'm trying this black soap to hopefully continue to fade my scars, but I doubt it will make me lighter. What cream are you using on your face? I'm using thr Bio Claire.

my black soap didn't fade my spots....
maybe I had the wrong black soap.
Really? It did it have any benefits, what brand are you using? I'm using the Nubian Heritage black soap, it say it also has shea butter and oats in it. I guess I'll really know in a few weeks... it supposed to help with acne and blemishes. Well, I haven't had any acne breakouts in a while. But, I'm also using at home microbermabrasion and then the bio claire.

As of now I'm not using any cream on my face, I'm scouting for something new. So just the soap right now. I used Bio clair and omg it did me so bad, I should have a post about it on here. I still have jars of that around. I've been asking questions about oralight pills and I am awaiting some answers. I heard neutral things about the Makari products so I never bought any of the products, now I have started to Google and read about the products. How ever there was a nice product I was using but when I called the supplier about it on yesterday they said they had discontinued it. It was really good... OH LOL I had not been home to visit my family in like 2 1/2 yrs in Louisiana so when I was there My grandfather and my uncle was like dang girl what are you doing bleaching yourself you so white. I was really upset/embarrased because this was on Thanksgiving Day and there was lots of people around. Some who didn't know me and probably thought I had just really light skin. But I laughed it off and blamed it on my new environment.

I know how that feels. My older brother and my step-dad were like that last Christmas and they said that whatever I was doing I neded to stop and that I looked like I was half white now. It was really embarressing, I rather them not say anything. I just said I was using black soap and sunblock... lol, and they were like your using more than that.. but I darkened a lot now.
You mean the oralight pills from Makari? I haven't heard any news from it. I know that the ingredients are Bearberry Leaves Extract, Lemon Fibres, Vit E, Vit C, Zinc Oxide, Magnesium Stearate, Gelatin. To sum it up ithe active ingredients is just bearberry leaves and lemon fiber w/ a high price. I don't know how much vitamin C though. Let me know if they work though.
What products was it that worked for you but now discontinued? What was your original complexion and how mny shades lighter did you get? What did you use for your arms to lighten? I know a lot of questions..

I myself have darkened a lot as well. A few weeks ago My husband had friends to meet him at a furniture to help move some things, when I came into the store they were like "you look different, you have finally gotten some color to you" I was like yea it's summer. Well I was using Body white. I had heard a female talk about it in another forum a while back. How she had used this product and it had done great for her but now she can't find it. So I googled it and found it. I purchased only about 4 tubes. Now the product is discontinued. I can't recall what the ingredients are but if I can find a old tube I'll let you know. I hate when something works pretty good than they stop selling it. There is also another one I used that's pretty good I need to find the box for that and order that one until I find something else. My skin tone I think is about two shades darker than Rihanna maybe even three now that I have tanned. But normally about one shade darker than her. Right now I'm not using anything on my arms but when ever I order my next products I will use on my arms. Bio clair had my arms really light for a min but than It turned me sooooo dark.

I'll try to look for Body white too. Have you checked Ebay? 1-2 shades darker than Rihanna, that's really good. That's something like my goal and to also maintain. How many shades lighter did the Bodywhite make you and how long to see results?
Bio Claire only worked for my face, neck, and ears, so I'm still using it there. On the rest of my body it only burned it to a bright red and wrinkly, then they later turned real dark and burnt. I removed it now with scrubs and makari, but I have to find something more affordable. I as using bio claire again on my arms to see if it'll work the next time but I stopped about a week back now because it started making my arms real wrinkly-looking.

I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news but my Likas Soap was CRAP it was the first skin ightening soap I've ever used and not a very good experience might I add.
It dried my face out, gave me small little bumps of acne, and my face looks DARKER instead of lighter
I've considered it might be the fact that even though I use the soap I'm often in the sun, so I'm STILL using it after my purchase a month ago , and waiting for the day I'll see good results
I've even sunk so low as to think about buying BIO CLAIRE.. I just want to go a shade lighter..

Sorry to hear about that exotic chinky. Did you use a good sunblock of spf 50+? I never used Likas soap before, only the Diana Stalder papaya kojic soap which worked well. Papaya kojic soap can be drying because it peels the top layer of the skin and works like a mild chemical peel. So, it's possible that when your skin is drying out too much and without sunblock, the skin may get darker. Maybe even cut backon it's usage to once a day or every other day and use a more moisturizing soap in between those days. Because it sounds like your skin may have burned. What moisturizer are you using after you use the soap?
Right now I'm using Black soap w/shea butter and oats from nubian heritage, avon microdermabrasion, and the infamous bio claire.. lol . What turns you off on the bio claire? I use it only on my face now, but it did burn in the beginning, lightened, then lightened unevenly, then lightened evenly. But, I use it only once a day mostly. My skin isn't as light anymore from lightening, as I'm continuing my search for the best affordable crème, so I'm basically maintaining what I haven't lost yet and clearing out my acne spots on my face until I found something much better.

No I haven't used a good sunblock I've only used the moisturizing neutrogena with spf 15 so I'm sure this has a lot to do with it.
I'm not necessarily turned off or on about bio claire just skeptical I've heard a lot of mixed reviews and I wouldn't want to chance messing my skin up, if I have to get something a little pricey to get effective safe results then so be it..
Is there anyway I can get my skin color back to its natural hue though? Because Im really NOT feeling my current skin tone, also how many shades lighter did bio claire take you?
And what were the BAD results specifically?

I see, the higher the number of spf the better. I only go a low as spf 55 which I rarely use these days but works really good too. My fav is the spf 70 or the 85, I put it about 10-15 min before I go out so it can be absorbed first, and always carry it in your bag when you go out in case you reapply. I usually rub it on once or twice a day depending on how often I'll be going outside.
In my opinion, you have good reasons to be skeptical with bio claire because I don't think they are the best and their true ingredients should be questioned. They never even emailed me back on that. But, I decided to use the rest of what I have left and get something else by the end of this month until I find another alternative. It worked for my face but only burned my arms, so I use it only for the face. When I was on Makari I wanted nothing to do with Bio Claire and avoided it... and now that my budget is tight I switched back to bio claire... lol until something better comes along.
Here's my story with Bio Claire and Makari:
Around last sumer I was using it 2x a day with a papaya kojic soap and it had lightened me about 1 1/2 shades until I switched to Makari. I only used it then as a cheap jump starter to lighten and then switched. I think like 3 or 4 weeks I used the Bio Claire for the face, longer for the body. When I was a kid my skin was a light brown, not light skin, about a shade off from it. Being out in the sun and never using sunscreen made me really uneven. So, most of my body has darkened a lot especially my face, neck, and arms became much darker from being most exposed. But, my shoulders and chest was still light brown, so I rarely used lighteners there.
I was using the bio claire crème on my face, neck, ears, arms, and legs until a few weeks later it began to really burn my skin and my veins were very visible. I was using the because lotion and oil for my body (and also the because soap before I bought the papaya soap) and the because crème for my face. It burned my upper arms so bad they were bright red (remember I'm brown skinned so it takes quite a bit for it to be blazing red like this ). And a few days later after the red and soreness went away my upper arms turned like 4 shades dark and they looked burned up pretty bad. I was so mad, I eventually started using the Makari night cream on my arms and the burns went away and my arms lightened about 3 shades lighter than my natural skin tone. I was lucky to be able to reverse what bio claire did to my arms. The product never lightened my body personally. Just made my skin burn
and my arms red. I nolonger use makari on my arms, so my arms have darkened to a medium brown, but not nearly as dark as they had become from being in the sun years before.
But, I began questioning makari a few months back when the inner part of my arms began to have stretch marks there which was weird. Did this mean that makari thins the skin? Well, that was my experience so I say yes, just took longer to show up on me and it's embarressing and another skin issue I have to figure how to fix. Their active ingredients are known to be natural and no hq or mercury as they advocate, but then what was it that did that to my inner arm area? The soap never did that.
Makari night cream I used for the face, neck, and arms and it had lightened me like around 2-3 shades and it also was lightening my acne scars too. I had tried the day crème which was also good but much smaller, an the caviar cream I used only on my hands to lightened as it's known to really break the face out. Makari did give me a pimple or 2 here and there but it was tolerable as I had used toothpaste to treat it. Other than that the papaya soap and St. Ive's apricot scrub kept my skin quite clear. But, some people say their experiences were good or bad. So, I have mixed reviews on both, both good and bad. I really think there are some good products out there, I just have to figure out what the are.

OK there's a huge difference between kojic acid and likas papaya. Kojic acid is a VERY strong acid soap and it will burn the hell out of sensative skin and cause the skin to peel... IF YOU HAVE SENSATIVE SKIN PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS! Likas papaya soap will not do any of that except for exfoliate your skin. It is excellent for acne (even the teens over at acne.org love this soap) and with long term use, you will see a difference (ive been using this soap on an off for about 2 yrs and I love it. Don't expect for quick fast results because you definantly won't get it) also, it will dry your skin out so purchase a good lotion.
Ive used both of the soap and they should not be compared lol
