My grams washer was leaving her clothes soaked so I went on the internet and someone told me It was off balance so we bought and replaced the ring balancer balancer gasket and the water pump. Well now after watching the machine I realized that the tub is not spinning at all or it will start to but it moves pretty slow and the clothes are still wet. Do you think we put it back together wrong it seemed like everything was right but I have noticed the agitator is higher than it used to be. I seen a lot of talk about the lid switch not letting it move something about safety but when you lift the lid it does turn right off so I don't think that is it. I am out of ideas please help me she already spent 100 bucks for another 100 she could've had a new one. The model number isGSt9679PG1 again thank you for you help I can use all I can get.;) Laura

Try to spin with no clothes in it. If it does not spin any better then you may have something between the inner and outer tub. You can take the tub ring off and look down between the tubs. If it spins with no clothes in it then there is probably oil on the clutch and it is slipping too much. This requires a taking the transmission out and replacing the clutch kit. You can try to clean the clutch pads but but that does not always remove all the oil. If your tub has fallen then your agitator will seem to be higher. You should hear loud clunking when it is in spin. If the noise is there let me know.

We've had it totally apart so nothing is in it and there is no weird noices everything sounds fine and my gram said the other day we left the nob pulled out and she went to put the lid down and half way down the tub started spinning like crazy she shut it off and tried again but it wouldn't spin. Thanks
