I am thinking about donating plasma. I want to know some of the effects of this so I can decide whether I should.

There are minimal effects of donating plasma. The only effects may be dizziness and/or nausea. Make sure you eat something before you donate.

I have donated plasma before, and I can tell you that you feel weak and dizzy definitely. Like J_9 said, eat something first, and they will give you a snack afterword, usually juice and a light snack of crackers or cookies.

If you have never donated before, I would suggest someone driving you there, because you may not be up to driving back home.

Its not BAD. Its no more than a minor inconveinance really. But better safe than sorry, and some people DO pass out after donating plasma.

Good luck :)

Pretty nurses hold you hand, you get juice and cookies or snack. And you get the knowledge you have helped people

Its no different really from donating blood in terms of side-effects. I think it might take a little more of your time. Most common side-effect is dizziness and some people might pass out.
