Are you simply trying to download it and run the install package? For some reason, the installer is looking for a drive "E:". Double-click on "My Computer" and see if you have a drive E:. I suspect you don't.

You can download Adobe Reader version 8 from here:

Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 (http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/8.x/8.0/enu/AdbeRdr80_en_US.exe)

This is a full installer, and not a downloader like you get from Adobe. Put it somewhere convenient on your hard drive and double-click on it. It should install and it should get around your error. Unfortunately, I couldn't find version 9, the latest. (Maybe someone else knows where to pick it up from). In any case, once version 8 is installed, you can go to HELP | CHECK FOR UPDATES and it will probably download and install the latest version correctly.

I found a link for the latest version:

My last post about this did not require you to purchase anything, I don't know what makes you think that as it addresses the exact message you are asking about.

https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/desktops/error-1327-invalid-drive-e-370100.html

It is a registry edit from Adobe
Error 1327.Invalid Drive: [drive letter] while installing or updating Adobe CS4, Acrobat or Adobe Reader (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404946.html)
