I am in love with a woman that comes into the café where I work. She is old enough to be my mother. But she is gorgeous. I don't know if she knows I am gay and fancy her, her daughter is gay so I know she has no qualms about these issues. My boss is also a lesbian and "told me" that she knew I fancied this woman. Her ody language comes across as her liking me, i.e. pointing her feet at me, fiddling with jewellery/hair, seeming nervous around me, licking lips, touching me quite often at times, seeming very tender around me. She also said jokingly that I would be her carer when she got older, and to a friend who said he could not get me on my mobile phone one time, "If we are dating, I expect you to keep your mobile phone on" I have never said anything to this woman about how I feel about her. What do you think I should do. She has a lot of problems with her family, I don't want to add to her problems, she has enough people piling their problems on to her as it is. She is widowed and I know a lot of people love her, but could she want something more.

The ONLY way to know if someone fancies you is to ask them.

Well, I agree with Synnen, but I know making the first move can seem daunting. Especially since you don't know if she fancies women or not.

But, you're not going to know unless you try. Why don't you suggest a movie or a coffee in another café where you won't have everyone's eyes on you.

You can take it from there - in any case, even if she's not a lesbian you may make a good friend.
