I got news that I'm a father and my child was 19 months when I first saw her. Well now the state gave me a bill for $2400 dollars for birth expenses. Will the insurance company I had at the time of birth pay towards that, or is there some time of cluase that tells me I'm screwed.

I think you are screwed. I am assuming that the mother wasn't on your health plan at the time of birth and was not married to you. Therefore, she wasn't covered.

Did you have maternaty coverage on the mother while you were with her? If not then no way will an insurance company cover it.

What exactly is the money for ? You have the right to an itemized bill. Your not liable for full expenses of the birth. If the amout is for the child's aftercare then you may be able to submit it to the insurance company based on the fact that you turned it in when it was known.
