What type of chip are you wanting to program? Is this a microprocessor?

I'm an ordinary (VB) programmer and not familiar with embeded programming languages. Electronics is not my field either. But I am interested in creating a chip that will connect to a 3way switch for streetlights and detect a globe damage if any.

Get a PIC micro-controller chip. It is simple and cheap.

The 3-way switch does what?

How would you detect globe damage manually?

What kind of light is it?

Are you looking at measuring current or intensity?

How will you report the damage?

What kind of damage are you reporting?

Planning on using Zigbee which is a mesh wireless network?
